| Railroads traveled through the history of Hawaii for more than 100 years, hauling sugar cane to the mills, and transporting workers between their homes and the canefields. Steam locomotives became a picturesque part of the Hawaiian landscape, sounding their haunting whistles as they rounded a mountain curve, or plowed along narrow-guage track between fields of sugar cane and plantation villages. | ||
